Two dead, one seriously injured in two separate road accidents in Kamrup district

BAKSA: One youth was killed and another youth was critically injured in a fatal auto accident on the Tamulpur-Nagrijuli road near Nagrijuli around 6.30 pm on Monday.

The deceased youth has been identified as Bhairo Kisku (29), son of Bhawani Kiskur of Bahbari village in Kumarikata under Tamulpur police station, and the critically injured youth is Nitumani Kalita ( 28), son of Pramod Kalita of Baranghati village under Kaya police station in Kamrup district. Bhairo and Nitumani were heading towards Tamulpur from Nagrijuli on a matorcycle bearing registration number AS-01-EJ-6304. After crossing the Balti bridge over Balti River, the motorcycle lost its control in the turning and hit the roadside railing. As a result, the motorcycle overturned and the accident occurred.

Bhairo Kisku was killed on the site and Nitumani was critically injured in the accident. A police team led by incharge of Nagrijuli police outpost, Manoj Das rushed to the spot and recovered the body and brought it to the Naglijuli police outpost. On the other hand, police shifted critically injured Nitumani to Nagrijuli Model Hospital. Nitumani was sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition after being given first aid at Nagrijuli.

Another accident took place on Tuesday at Dwarkuchi on the Rangia- Bhutan road and one youth named Jontu Sutradhar (26) was killed on the spot. The accident took place when a Bhutanese truck bearing registration number BP-2- A 8310 was coming from Bhutan towards Rangia. The truck tried to overtake another vehicle and it hit Jontu Sutradhar while he was standing on the roadside. Jontu died on the spot. A police team led by Bijoy Das, in-charge of Gandhibari Outpost, rushed to the spot and recovered the body. Locals protested after the accident occured seeking the protection of the lives of commmon people. Later on, police managed to control the protesters.
