2 Die of COVID in Sonitpur district, 221 new cases reported

TEZPUR: Two persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Sonitpur district on Tuesday. They have been identified as Surjya Das (33), resident of Radhikapur, Besseria, and Gautam Sarkar (44), resident of Joimoti Pathar Road, Tezpur, who died at TMCH, taking the death toll to 115 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic. Altogether 5,781 tests were done across the district on Tuesday out of which 5,010 were RAT and rest RT-PCR, and among the new 221 positive cases found, 215 cases were from RAT and 6 from RT-PCR.
