LAKHIMPUR: The COVID-19 pandemic took away the lives of two more persons in Lakhimpur district on Monday and Tuesday. One of them has been identified as Bhuban Konwar (32), resident of Sukulibhoriya village near North Lakhimpur town. He breathed his last at Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital on Monday. The other person has been identified as Kuldeep Singh, resident of Nogori No 1 of the district, and he also died in LMCH on Tuesday

On the other hand, a total of 239 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Lakhimpur district in the last two days. Out of them, 132 cases were detected in the district on Monday as per the results of the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Test. Of them 120 people of the district were found to be positive for COVID-19 as per RAT while 12 cases were detected as per RTPCR Test, reported from AMCH, Dibrugarh.

COVID-19 Cases in Lakhimpur

On Monday, the District Health Department conducted the RAT upon 2,817 persons in eight COVID-19 Test Centres across the district. Out of them, the detected cases were reported from North Lakhimpur Urban Hospital (6), Dhalpur BPHC (12), Bihpuriya BPHC (18), Naoboicha BPHC (6), Boginadi BPHC (37), Ghilamora BPHC (15), Dhakuakhana BPHC (12) and Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital Respiratory Clinic (14). On this day, the Health Department of the district registered 90 per cent achievement in conducting the RAT in order to detect COVID-19 patients out of the targeted figure 3430.

On Tuesday, a total of 107 fresh cases were detected as per the results of the results of RAT RTPCR Test. Of them 101 people of the district were found to be positive for COVID-19 as per RAT while 6 cases were detected as per RTPCR Test, reported from AMCH, Dibrugarh. On this day, a total of 2,615 people underwent RAT conducted the District Health Department. The detected cases were reported from North Lakhimpur Urban Hospital (6), Dhalpur BPHC (19), Bihpuriya BPHC (8), Naoboicha BPHC (10), Boginadi BPHC (34), Ghilamora BPHC (1), Dhakuakhana BPHC (6), Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital Respiratory Clinic (13) and Private Nursing Homes (4). On this day, the Health Department of the district registered 89 per cent achievement in conducting the RAT.

With these fresh patients, the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases of the district has surged to 11,594 since April 4 of the last year. Out of them, 10,164 recovered patients have been discharged from hospitals and home quarantine while 1,325 are active cases at present. On Tuesday, 28 recovered patients were discharged from institutional isolation while 96 recovered patients were discharged from home isolation.
