BAKSA: Sensation prevailed after a youth and a student were allegedly beaten at Lawpara on the Tamulpur-Nagrijuli road under Nagrijuli police outpost in the district of Baksa on Sunday night.

According to Nikunja Das, the victim businessman of Nagrijuli, he was returning from Rangia to Nagrijuli in his four-wheeler goods carrying vehicle with Sanjit Roy, a student. When they reached Lawpara, some SSB personnel stopped his vehicle and checked it. When Nikunja Das asked why they were checking the vehicle without any police personnel, the SSB personnel allegedly physically tortured Nikunja and Sanjit. The SSB personnel also forcefully took the money bag and documents of the vehicle from Nikunja.

Later, Nikunja reported in Nagrijuli police outpost about the incident. At night, police sent Nikunja to Tamulpur Primary Health Centre for health check-up. On Monday, Nikunja lodged an FIR at Nagrijuli police outpost. Police are investigating the matter.
