Two persons of the same family electrocuted in Mayong in the district of Morigaon

JAGIROAD: Satyaranjan Sarkar (14) and Sulata Sarkar (17), belonging to the same family of Mayong in the district of Morigaon were electrocuted on Tuesday night.

Mother of the two deceased, Sarala Sarkar sustained severe injury and was admitted to the nearby Jhargaon PHC in a critical condition. Following heavy wind and shower on Tuesday night, an electric wire snapped and fell near their cowshed. In the morning, Satyaranjan, unfortunately, came in contact with the live wire while feeding their cow and got electrocuted. Later, his elder sister Sulata tried to save him and she also died on the spot. Their mother Sarala, who also attempted to save her children, sustained a severe burn injury.
