UBPO president Manoranjan Basumatary inaugurated construction work of Luhijan road

LAKHIMPUR: The construction work of the Luhijan road from Mataori via Joldubi under Jonai MSTD Block of Dhemaji district was inaugurated on Tuesday. It was inaugurated by United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) president Manoranjan Basumatary while attending a ceremonial programme.

Notably, the Luhijan road had been in a critically deplorable condition for years, due to which the local people of a larger area under Bahir Jonai Gaon Panchayat (GP) had to suffer a lot while making their way to their destination. UBPO raised consecutive demands to the district administration to construct the road at the earliest for the greater interest of the people. The road will be constructed with the investment of a fund amounting to Rs. 23,02,097 allotted under MGNREGA for the financial year 2022-23.
