UDALGURI: A meeting was convened at Udalguri DC office to discuss the COVID situation in the district. The student organizations of the districts shared their views with the district administration officials and assured to extend help to contain the COVID infection in the district.
The local leaders of All Assam Students' Union, All Bodo Students' Union, All Assam Gorkha Students' Union, AllAdivasi Students' Union, among others attended the meeting. PrakashRanjanGharphalia, Udalguri Deputy Commissioner, appealed to all the organizations to cooperate with the district administration to contain COVID infection.
AnsulaBasumatari, Additional Deputy Commissioner in-charge of disaster management, also appealed to all the student leaders to extend cooperation to the administration. The Udalguri DC asked the student leaders to cooperate with the 750 village-level home quarantine management committees to contain the spread of COVID in the villages. The DC also apprised that he had already discussed with the tea garden committees to maintain COVID protocol in their areas.
The Deputy Commissioner has also held a meeting with the literary organizations. The representatives of Asom Nepali SahityaSabha, AxamXahityaXabha, BodoSahityaSabha, SaotaliSahityaSabha and Indian Red Cross Society were urged to cooperate at their level to contain the spread of COVID in the villages.
The DC also instructed the Food and Civil Supply department to take regular stock of the availability of foods and other commodities on a regular basis. He also instructed the Agriculture department to make arrangement to sell the agro production of the region. He urged the veterinary department to facilitate the cattle farmers of the districts.
