UDALGURI: Udalguri Deputy Commissioner Prakash Ranjan Gharphalia visited the 200-bedded Udalguri Civil Hospital on Wednesday to take stock of preparedness to combat an outbreak of COVID-19. The DC also looked into the arrangements for examination of suspected persons arriving from other States and the registration process. He held discussion with the Superintendent of the civil hospital and doctors regarding COVID-19 and urged them to be on duty 24x7. The DC also visited the seven-bedded isolation ward set up in Udalguri Civil Hospital. The DC visited and identified the newly-constructed ITI building as quarantine centre, as and when required, where 70 persons can be accommodated.

The DC also visited the Chandana TE Hospital and factory to take stock of lockdown and precautionary measures and arrangements undertaken by the garden authority to tackle the spread of novel coronavirus. He was accompanied by ADC Amarjyoti Barman.
