TANGLA: In a bid to fight against COVID-19, the Udalguri district administration on Monday provided a total of 1,32,400 triple layer masks to all 25 tea estates of the district, which included 50,000 masks already handed over by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on April 18.
Udalguri Deputy Commissioner Prakash Ranjan Gharphaliya said that teams led by five executive magistrates distributed the triple layer masks to the tea garden workers of 25 tea estates of the district. Assistant Commissioners Nirmal Jyoti Sarmah, Dimple Baruah, Kushal Kalita, Nilakshi Baishya and Election Officer Nilotpal Pathak were assigned to carry out the distribution of the masks. The distribution was in pursuance of government order received from the executive director of National Health Mission, Assam.
