TANGLA: The unprecedented rainfall and rising water level of rivers have caused severe flooding and substantial damage in the Udalguri district, including parts of Khoirabari, Kalaigaon, Tangla, Udalguri and Mazbat.

According to reports, the unprecedented rainfall has raised the water level of the Noa River in Kalaigaon and also breached a culvert at Udalguri-Kalaigaon road in Mazarchuba village under Kalaigaon Revenue Circle on Wednesday night. According to reports, villagers of Singrimari, Chintagaon, Tejialpara and Batiamari are reeling under flood water.

"Our poultry, chicken and goats have been washed away in the flood. The relief by the district administration has not reached us, we are starving," said a villager of Mazurchuba village.
