ULFA Cadre Surrenders Before Golaghat Police

GOLAGHAT: A cadre of the banned United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) surrendered before the Golaghat Police on Friday.

As per report, surrendered cadre is Numal Charoh alias Simanta Asom. Talking to media persons, the Superintendent of Police of Golaghat, Pusparaj Sing said that Numal Charoah alias Simanta Asom joined the ULFA in 2011 with Gagadhar Charoh who surrendered few days back. Simanta Asom underwent training in Myanmaar. He actively worked for the organization for eight years.

Simanta Asom hails from Nakkati area of Dergaon in Golaghat district. The cadre said in a statement that recently Myanmar army launched operation against the banned outfit and as a result several camps were destroyed and several cadres left the ULFA camps. There was a possibility that many more cadres would also surrender soon.

Police are interrogating the cadre for more information. However, he has not surrendered any arms.
