‘Unauthorized people working in Lakhimpur District Transport Office’- Asomiya Yuva Mancha alleges

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of Asomiya Yuva Mancha alleged that unauthorized persons were working in the Lakhimpur District Transport Office (DTO).

Regarding the issue, the organization submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of the district demanding his action to drive them out from the office concerned. In the memorandum, district unit AYM chief adviser Anupam Saikia, president Chiranjit Bordoloi, and secretary Bikash Bhumiz said, “We have noticed that a section of unauthorized people is working in Lakhimpur District Transport Office which is responsible for accomplishing vehicle-related works of 11 lakh people of the district.”

Further, the organization alleged that some people in the office, playing mediator’s role, have exploited the common people. In this regard, though the organization submitted a memorandum to the District Transport Officer on March 13 to ensure his employees come to the office wearing I-cards, he allegedly did not take any step to address the problem. So, the organization, by submitting the same memorandum, demanded the DC to ensure the same or face democratic protest in future.
