Unidentified body recovered under Dalgaon Police Station in Darrang district

MANGALDAI: Strong sensation prevailed in the Dalgaon area of Darrang district following the recovery of the body of an unidentified girl aged about 22 to 25 years in a maize field at village Na mati under Daipam Police outpost under Dalgaon Police Station on Saturday. The people of the locality suspect it to be murder and they felt that the body was abandoned in the maize field to mislead the police. Heavy amount of froth-like substance was seen on the nose of the deceased. On receipt of information, police officials, including Superintendent of Police Amrit Bhuyan and local magistrate, rushed to the spot and launched thorough investigation. Significantly, the deceased is yet to be identified. Meanwhile, at the initiative of the Superintendent of Police, the police have picked up several doubtful persons in this connection and interrogation is on.
