GOLAGHAT: Amidst the ongoing corona pandemic situation, another health-related case has created sensation in Golaghat. One employee of Golaghat Nursing Home named Rupankar Bora died on Saturday at Hayat Hospital in Guwahati following liver disease. Golaghat Nursing Home was once a hotspot of COVID-19 and now 38 staff and nurses have been found to be infected with Hepatitis disease. Another employee of the nursing home is undergoing treatment at Aditya Nursing Home in Dibrugarh with a similar disease. This created a wave of panic among the patients as well as people of Golaghat. But the big question arises how so many people got affected with liver disease in the nursing home. The authorities have stated that on June the nursing home was sealed by the administration after several COVID positive cases were reported. The staff members were quarantined in the nursing home and food and water were provided by the administration. Due to the provided food or water, they may have been infected with the jaundice like disease. On the other hand another point has come to light which indicates that when the district administration declared Golaghat Nursing Home as a restricted zone, the whole campus was sanitized. High amount of sodium hydrochloride used for sanitization can be the cause of this. However, the actual reason is yet to be discovered.
