KOKRAJHAR/BONGAIGAON: The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on Tuesday visited at 15th Battalion Headquarter of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) of Kajalgaon in Chirang district. After arriving at Kajalgaon SSB Headquarters, the minister took a salute of the SSB jawans followed by the inauguration of the newly constructed barrack and staff quarters. The minister then, interacted with the SSB jawans, where he praised the dedication of the jawans towards defending the country. He also saluted their bravery and expressed his gratitude.

Thereafter, the Union Minister Nityanand Rai and Joint Secretary (Police) Sudhesh Kumar Sahi planted saplings in the premises of 15th Bn SSB headquarter.

Answering a query of the mediapersons on why India is still under the treat of China and Pakistan, especially in border affairs, the Union Minister Nityanand Rai said that India is no longer what it used to be. "This is now 21st century's India led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under Modi's leadership, the morale of the people in the country's army and security forces has been strengthened and the country's borders have been secured as India never compromises on border security and sovereignty," he added.

On the occasion, Chirang DC Narendra Kumar Shah, Chirang SP Pranjit Borah, DIG of SSB Frontier Guwahati Sanam Bodh, DIG SHQ, Bongaigaon, AK Anthony and DB Sanar, Commanding Officer of 15th Bn SSB, Kajalgaon were present.
