Union Power Minister RK Singh reaches Dhemaji district

LAKHIMPUR: Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy RK Singh arrived in Dhemaji district on Monday evening with a two-day long programme. The Minister reached Dibrugarh Airport around 4.30pm and then he directly went to 2000MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project (SLHP) being constructed by NHPC Limited at Gerukamukh in Assam-Arunachal border area of Dhemaji district. He arrived at SLHP at around 7.30pm.

At SLHP, RK Singh took part in an exhibition of skill development, livelihood and a discussion programme with the beneficiaries at SLHP, Gerukamukh.

On Monday night, the Minister visited the Power House site of SLHP and inaugurated a boxing unit under Kamle district in the State of Arunachal Pradesh. He spent the night at the guest house of SLHP.

On Tuesday morning around 11.30am, the Minister will depart from SLHP and arrive at Gogamukh. There he will visit PMAY-G beneficiary's house and interact with PM Kishan beneficiaries. Then he will visit Saubhagya Scheme at Chamarajan, Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme at Hatigarh.

Thereafter he will arrive in Dhemaji town and interact with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Pradhan Mantri SvaNidhi at Dhemaji Bazar. After taking part in a cycle rally from Dhemaji Bazar to Court field, the Minister will participate in a public meeting with the beneficiaries of different government schemes. Then he will visit the Dhemaji BJP Office and address a press meet at Dhemaji Circuit House. At 5.00pm, he will leave Dhemaji for Dibrugarh Airport by road via Bogibeel bridge.
