MANGALDAI: The untimely death of Kaushik Baruah (21), a sixth semester student in the Mechanical Engineering department of Assam Engineering College in a road accident at Jalukbari on Sunday midnight has cast a pall of gloom at his home town Mangaldai. Born to Bhaba Jyoti Baruah and Rupali Baruah of Jyoti Nagar area here, Kaushik was known for his merit. He passed the HS (Science) examination with flying colours from Brilliant Academy Senior Secondary School here and missed a rank only by 14 marks. His untimely demise has widely been mourned. He is the grandson of Rajendra Barua, an eminent social activist and a former lecturer of Mangaldai College.
