LAKHIMPUR: “Mahpurush Srimanta Sankardeva established a noble, humanitarian spiritual philosophy based on truth and scientific view, integrating the castes and communities of greater Assam. The integrated Assamese community is blessed with the mammoth contributions of the great spiritual Apostle to the literature, culture and social arena of the State. The upcoming generation and the youths of the State should follow his ideology,” said Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in Lakhimpur on Sunday.
He said so while attending as the chief guest of the open session of the 26th Kendriya Sishu, Yuva, Aai Matri Samaroh of Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha held at Naraynapur with a three-day long programme from Friday. In the programme, chaired by Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha Padadhikar Kamalakanta Gogoi, the Chief Minister appealed to the youth of the State to keep the ideology of the ‘Gurujana’ living forever. He said that the noble ideology of the great saint would always be contemporary, disseminating perennial message of peace and harmony.
The Assamese community would exist only when his ideology would exist with us, he added. In this regard, he called upon the Aai Matris (the women community) to play a vital role for culturing spirituality in the upcoming generation stating that children could not progress in life unless they have the blessings of their mothers. He further appealed to the Sangha to enrich the greenery of the State by planting 30 lakh saplings by 30 lakh devotee members of the organization.
State P&RD Minister Naba Kumar Doley and Tezpur MP Pallab Losan Das also took part in the programme as guests of honour.
