KOKRAJHAR: The UPPL (United People's Party Liberal) led by Pramod Boro and the BPF (Bodoland People's Front) led by Hagrama Mohilary got two seats each in Kokrajhar and Chirang while former Ministers Pramila Rani Brahma and Chandan Brahma lost their prestigious seats to UPPL candidates — Lawrence Islary and Jayanta Basumatary in 30-Kokrajhar East and 31-Sidli LACs (Legislative Assembly Constituencies) respectively. Both Islary and Basumatary were from ABSU background.

Five times MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) from Kokrajhar 30-Kokrajhar East and Minister for three times, Pramila Rani Brahma was defeated by UPPL candidate and former ABSU general secretary Lawrence Islary by a margin of 20,989 votes in Kokrajhar East. Islary got 95,986 votes while Brahma got 64,997 votes.

In 31-Sidli Constituency, former Minister Chandan Brahma lost to Jayanta Basumatary of UPPL and former ABSU leader by a margin of 30,989 votes. Chandan Brahma got 64,997 votes while Jayanta Basumatary polled 95,986 votes.

In 28-Gossaigaon, sitting MLA Majen Narzary defeated UPPL candidate Somnath Narzary by 10,135 votes. Majen got 70,794 votes while Somnath got 60,659 votes.

In 29-Kokrajhar West, sitting MLA Rabiram Narzary defeated Manaranjan Brahma by a margin of 12,233 votes. Rabiram got a total of 76,826 votes while Manaranjan got 64,593 votes.
