TANGLA: Bodoland People's Front (BPF) general secretary Prabin Boro on Saturday reiterated the commitment of the BPF of bringing in 'unity ' and 'integrity' along with inclusive growth and development of every communities in the Bodo belt. Addressing an election meet gathering under Khalingduar BTC constituency at Tangla town in Udalguri district he alleged that the BJP and the UPPL (United People's Party Liberal) are two faces of the same coin. Lambasting UPPL president Pramod Boro he said the latter had earlier spearheaded the separate statehood movement and avouched not to contest election but he has now contested election. He further asserted that the 3rd Bodo Accord have only clauses for development of Bodos where the rights of non-Bodo communities have been snapped and appealed the people to vote for BPF in the forthcoming council polls.
"The now disbanded NDFB was one of the core signatories of the 3rd Bodo Accord but at present three out of the four factions have extended their support to BPF which bears testimony to the fact that BPF have paved the way for permanent peace and development," he added. He further exuded confidence that the BPF will form the government for the fourth consecutive term in the council.
