UPPL general secretary Raju Kr Narzary hits back at BJP EM Arup Kr Dey

KOKRAJHAR: A day after BJP EM of BTC Arup Kr. Dey’s remarks to form government without UPPL, the party general secretary Raju Kr Narzary on Saturday has hit back at Dey in Kokrajhar. Narzary said it was unfortunate that a responsible EM of BTC could pass such comments.

It may be mentioned that EM Arup Kr. Dey in an interview with media persons on Friday proudly claimed that BJP could form government within seconds siding off the UPPL. Dey said the BJP was keeping patience as the party is a part of coalition government in BTR. He said the BJP formed alliance with UPPL just to run the council government but not in political circle. “The BJP has been working for its interest as per its strategy. The party won just in one seat in BTC election but many MCLAs from different parties joined the BJP,” he said adding that if election is held this time the BJP will take absolute majority in BTC. He also said in 2025 BTC election, the BJP will emerge victorious with absolute numbers.

Reacting to his comments, UPPL general secretary Raju Kr Narzary said Pramod Boro led council government was going on in a right manner by reformative and transformative agendas. Boro has brought various spectacular welfare schemes for the people, for the students, for women and for the underprivileged section in the region but doing politics of split by an EM was unfortunate, he said adding that Dey was an EM of big and responsible department and government spokesperson. He also said Dey should focus on the development of his Health department instead of bringing politics of hatred. He further said Dey being a responsible EM and government spokesperson should not pass such comments on alliance.

Narzary said the UPPL-led coalition will be continuing till 2025 and beyond. The alliance between BJP,UPPL and GSP is in right track, he said adding that they had intimidated the state president of the BJP over the comments of EM Arup Kr Dey.

Meanwhile, CEM of BTC Pramod Boro also said in his reply to queries of reporters today that they had been working for the welfare and all-round development of people of the region and alliance with BJP is on right track. He said, “EM’s remarks may not be from high command but could be personal. He will talk to high command if the issue comes from them,” he said adding that those who do not want peaceful and congenial atmosphere in BTR will play such selfish politics.
