Urban Primary Health Center of Lakhimpur bags NAQS award

LAKHIMPUR: The Chapori Gaon Urban Primary Health Center of North Lakhimpur town has bagged the National Quality Assurance Standard (NAQS) award. A press communique released on Friday from the office of the Joint Director of Health Services, Lakhimpur district stated that the PHC had brought the national accolade, not only to the district but to the State of Assam first time ever, qualifying in the assessment of medical services and infrastructural quality standards. The same press communique further stated that two national assessors, named Dr. S. Faruddin and Dr. Bijoy Raina arrived in Lakhimpur on February 4 in order to inspect the PHC in this regard. Then the assessors minutely observed and assessed a total of twelve services of the PHC, including the casualty, vaccination, chemical, laboratory, family planning, neo-natal baby care, maternity care services on February 4 and 5. During the two-day-long assessment, the PHC was potent enough to bag the NAQS award for the first time in the State.
