TINSUKIA: The District Industries & Commerce Centre (DICC), Tinsukia in association with district administration and Tea Board Tinsukia, organized Vanijya Utsav and one-day Exporters' Conclave at New High School Tinsukia on Friday as a part of the 75 years of Independence celebration 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. As many as 42 stalls were displayed by the farmers, manufacturers, artisan, sellers and exporters of Tinsukia district.

Narsing Pawar, Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia, and also chairman of District Exporters' Committee, inaugurated the conclave after lighting the ceremonial lamp that was followed by a brief introduction on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by ADC Sarfraz Haque. Addressing the gathering, Pawar said that the potential entrepreneurs must be explored to reap the benefit through precise forum. The government has led many initiatives that have empowered the people for the New India of their dreams and activities were strategically designed to promote rural enterprises, Pawar said.

In his welcome address, Ranjan Borah, general manager of DI&CC, said the conclave would act as a common platform for growers, manufacturers and exporters of the district to facilitate export of their produce. The toolkits to six bamboo artisans were distributed under National Bamboo Mission.

A technical session pertaining to promotion of export was addressed by Anjan Gogoi, assistant director, Tea Board Tinsukia, Dr Sanjoy Borthakur, senior scientist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Tinsukia, Soumyadipta Roy of Lunar Agrochemicals, and other dignitaries.
