Vending zone declared at Ward No. 14 in North Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: The North Lakhimpur Municipal Board (NLMB) has declared one more vending zone at Ward No. 14 for North Lakhimpur urban area through an order, issued by the Executive Officer-cum-City Project Officer of DAY-NULM, North Lakhimpur. The vending zone was declared as per resolution taken in the Town Vending Committee (TVC) meeting held on August 21 in the office chamber of Executive Officer, NLMB.

The step was taken under the provision of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014 which has been enacted by the Parliament of India to regulate street vendors in public areas and to protect their rights. The vending zone area covers towards Magistrate Colony of North Lakhimpur town, in front of Night Shelter, located in the mentioned ward, near Shiva Mandir, demarcated by NH-15 on north, Handloom & Textile Training Centre on south, Shiva Mandir on east and Assam State Warehouse godown on west.
