Veteran Assamese Actor Nipon Goswami Passes Away

GUWAHATI: Popular actor of the Assamese film industry, Nipon Goswami passed away in the morning hours on Thursday at an age of 80. He was admitted in the Nemcare Hospital of Guwahati a few days ago due to deteriorating health conditions.

Nipon Goswami was born on September 3 of 1942 in the Kolibari region of Tezpur in Assam. His father's name was Chandradhar Goswami and his mother was Nirupama Goswami.

He studied at the Government Higher Secondary School followed by Darang College. He studied acting at the Film and Television Institute of India.

Nipon Goswami has been part of more than 100 films in his acting career and also tried his hands in film direction in the Assamese film industry.
