Veteran educationist and social worker Rukheswar Baruah felicitated by the people of Jhanji

GAURISAGAR: Rukheswar Baruah, a resident of Jhanji Moran gaon on the outskirts of Jhanji in Sivasagar district and veteran educationist, social worker, sportsperson, sports organizer, cultural activist and former Principal of Jhanji Higher Secondary School (formerly Jhanji High school), was felicitated by the people of Jhanji at a function held on Sunday at Jhanji Natya Samaj Kala Bhavan.

In the function, a felicitation book Boroniyo on the life and works of the noted educationist, edited by Himadrijyoti Dutta, was unveiled by Dr Saumarjyoti Mahanta, noted columnist and Principal of Sibsagar Commerce College. Unveiling the book, Dr Mahanta highlighted the brief life history and achievement of Rukheswar Baruah. Various organizations also felicitated Rukheswar Baruah with gamosa, seleng and safura. The felicitation programme was anchored by Rajib Dutta while Puspadhar Neog, secretary of the reception committee, explained the objective. Rukheswar Baruah was escorted to the function from his native village with gayan-bayan and a good number of students and well-wishers.
