Vigilance Awareness Week concludes at IOCL, AOD

DIGBOI: Indian Oil Corporation, Assam Oil Division observed Vigilance Awareness Week, 2020 here in Digboi with several activities commencing from October 27 to November 2.

Normally, the Vigilance Awareness Week celebrations are held in the week coinciding with October 31 every year to mark the birth anniversary of SardarVallabhBhai Patel. The Iron Man of India had represented the best values in the Indian tradition so far as governance is concerned and was also a shining example of probity in public life.

Vigilance Awareness Week, 2020 with the theme 'Satark Bharat, Samridh Bharat (Vigilant Indian, Prosperous India)' was formally kicked off with a pledge taking ceremony on October 27 at various locations of the Digboi unit of the corporate office.

With the aim of spreading awareness on transparency, honesty and integrity, the vigilance department of IOCL (AOD), led by MridulShyam, DGM (Vigilance), organized outreach programmes for the students of various schools and colleges, besides IOCL (AOD) employees and their families.

As a curtain-raiser, an inter-school elocution competition was organized on the maiden day through the Zoom platform involving students from schools in and around Digboi. An inter-school debate competition was also organized through digital platform. Similarly, an inter-college slogan, essay and poster-writing competition was also held on the theme 'Vigilant India- Prosperous India' amongst the colleges students in Digboi and an inter-school painting competition involving students of schools in Digboi was also held.
