DIBRUGARH: Dibrugarh police have failed to nab the prime accused of the sensational suicide case of animal activist Vineet Bagaria even after 12 days. The main accused Sanjay Sharma and Izaz Khan have been absconding since July 7. Police have arrested three persons in connection with the abetment of suicide of Vineet Bagaria. They have been identified as Baidullah Khan, Nishant Sharma and Samsullah Khan. A case no. 309/22 u/s 306 IPC was registered at Dibrugarh police.

"Our search operation is on to nab the other two accused in connection with the suicide case of Vineet Bagaria. A team has been working on that," said a police official. On July 7, Vineet Bagaria hung himself to death at his residence at the Shani Mandir Road in Dibrugarh. His family members took him to hospital but doctors declared him brought dead.

Before his death, Vineet had self recorded a video where he accused Baidullah Khan, Sanjay Sharma and Nishant Sharma of physically and mentally torturing him and his family over a piece of rental property. Vineet was the co-founder of Animal Welfare People (AWP), NGO, which takes care of stray dogs.
