Guwahati: The Jana Ashirwad Yatra of Assam called for several FIRs against the ruling party of the state on the violation of the Covid 19 protocols.
The FIRs were filed by the AJP (Assam Jatiya Parishad) against the Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sharma, Central Ministers Rameshwar Teli, Sarbananda Sonowal along with various other prominent names of the ruling party. It is informed that the party carried out a Jana Ashirwad Yatra this Saturday against which AJP filed FIRs in different police stations of the state on Sunday.
Along with the CM of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal, Rameshwar Teli several other BJP politicians are also included in the list that incorporates the names of Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro Biswajit Pegu, minsters of Assam Jogen Mohan, Bimal Borah, BJP President of Assam Bhabesh Kalita along with several MPs of the state Queen Oja, Pallab lochan Das, Dilip Saikia, Topon Kumar Gogoi, and Kamakhya Prasad Tasa. The FIRs were filed in different police stations in Latashil, Dispur, and several others.
In the FIRs, it is mentioned that the party, violating the present SOP, joined together almost 200 in number to welcome the former Chief Minister of the state Sarbananda Sonowal. It is also mentioned that along with the party leaders, several government officials were also present there. It is stated that the Covid 19 protocols were violated in Jalukbari at the memorial of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport where hundreds of people joined together giving a blank eye to the rising Covid 19 cases in the state.
Assam Jatiya Parishad led by Lurinjyoti Gogoi demanded a strong investigation on the matter and requested the administration to take strict actions against the violators. The yatra was organized after the arrival of the union minister of AYUSH, ports, and shipping Sarbananda Sonowal. It was a three-day-long Jana Ashirwad Yatra that started on Saturday.
