Vital Road Link between Lanka-Umrangsu-Garampani Restored

Haflong: Road communication between Lanka-Umrangsu-Garampani, which was disrupted due to collapse of bridges over Lanku and Langri rivers on October 27 due to heavy rain, was restored on Saturday.

Road communication between Lanka-Umrangsu-Garampani remained disrupted for several days causing inconvenience to the people as well as industries like Dalmiya Cement factories. With the initiative of Chief Executive Member of NC Hills Autonomous Council, Debolal Gorlosa and authorities of Dalimiya Cement, the restoration work was carried out day and night.

Meanwhile Executive Member Golonjo Thaosen and MACs Ratan Jarambusa and Nojit Kemprai visited the site to take stock of the restoration work. The restoration of the road communication was witnessed by the team of NCHAC on Saturday. Following the restoration of communication, the people expressed a sigh of relief.
