Volunteers, Officials of Village Defense Organization Donates to CM's Relief Fund in Darrang

MANGALDAI: All the officials and volunteers of Village Defense Organization of Darrang district on Wednesday met Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at his office chamber at Janata Bhavan and handed over a cheque amounting to Rs. 1 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Office bearers of the Village Defense Organization of Darrang, namely deputy adviser Mukut Saikia, circle organizers Kushal Medhi and Mahesh Sarma and president of Mangaldai Thana Committee, Nayan Das, at the initiative of Superintendent of Police Er Sushanta Biswa Sarma, met the Chief Minister. All the office bearers and volunteers of the organization have raised the amount from their own contribution. Chief Minister Sarma appreciated the initiative of the organization.
