DOOMDOOMA: The first wall magazine of the newly-established Padma Nath Gohain Baruah (PNGB) Government Model College, Kakapather, 21 km away from Doomdooma, titled 'Pronodon' and brought out on the occasion Saraswati Puja celebration in the college by the Assamese department under the joint editorship of Jonmoni Moran and Rashmita Nath, was inaugurated by Arjun Baruah, president of Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha (TZXX), on Tuesday. Baruah lauded the efforts of the teachers and students of the newly-established college. PNGB Model College, that came up at a plot of 22 bighas of land at Amguri, Nagaon near Kakapather with grant received under Rastriya Uccha Siksha Abhijan ( RUSA), is yet to be completed. However, it has been imparting education to the students of this interior area from December last year with partial recruitment of teachers in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. Dr Thanuram Majinder, Principal, welcomed the guests and organized a 'Meet the guests' programme with the faculty of the college where Lalit Moran, president of Tinsukia Zila Parishad, and president, college preparation committee, Arjun Baruah, president of TZXX, Dhiren Deka, journalist and former president of Assam Science Writers' Association (ASWA) and Anju Konwar, Associate Professor, Doomdooma College were present.
