Wanted NDFB(S) Cadre Held by Chirang Army Unit and Assam Police

Bongaigaon: The Chirang Army unit along with Assam Police nabbed a hardcore cadre who was fugitive since 2018.

As per sources, Kamakhya Diamary alias Kswnasong, had initially joined NDFB (RD) but later shifted to NDFB(S) in 2014. He has been on the run from law enforcement agencies, including NIA, due to his alleged involvement in the Adivasi massacre of December 2014.

Talking to media persons, Sudhakar Sing, Chirang Superintendent of Police, said that the dreaded cadre was apprehended in August 2015 and sent to Central Jail, Guwahati. “In April 2018 during a move for the hearing he escaped from police custody and remained a fugitive ever since,” he said.

A sophisticated foreign-made pistol and live ammunition were recovered from the fugitive cadre. “Police have started an investigation. The apprehension of this hardcore cadre has given another jolt to NDFB(S),” the SP said.
