Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika attends public rally in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: Water Resources and Information & Public Relation (I&PR) Minister Pijush Hazarika took part in a mega public rally in Lakhimpur on Friday. The rally was organized at Panigaon Model HS School playground, covering the BJP ‘karyakartas’ and members under the newly delimited 75 Nowboicha LAC under the management of Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah, as a part of State BJP’s initiative taken to conduct the same in every LAC after the completion of constituency delimitation process.

The agenda of the event started with welcome address delivered by Lakhimpur district unit BJP president Phanidhar Baruah. He urged the district BJP karyakartas to work hard for the upcoming parliamentary election and to take the BJP’s developmental activities to the masses. Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka and Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah made accounts of BJP’s success while implementing developmental schemes in the legislative constituency and the parliamentary constituency during their tenure under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. They criticized APCC president Bhupen Borah, Assam Jatiya Parishad chief Lurinjyoti Gogoi, Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi and AIUDF chief Badaruddin Ajmal as well as the ppposition forum. They urged the people to extend their support for BJP. Manab Deka said that the Kharkati Phatasuti Ghat Bridge over River Ranganadi, being constructed, would be inaugurated on May of the next year. Pradan Baruah claimed that all schemes adopted are taken to public under the tenure of the BJP-led governments.

On the other hand, Pijush Hazarika lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for their ‘dynamic’ leadership and bringing drastic change to the country and the State by ensuring all-round development and upgrading the status of the poor section of the society. He further explained the success and achievements of developmental activities already implemented. In this connection, he cited the example of providing job to around 87,000 youths of the State out of 1,00,000 as per Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s poll promise, implementation of Orunoday scheme, Mission Basundhara, Mission Bhumiputra, Microfinance Loan Waiver Scheme, providing health benefits, ration cards to the poor section of the society, development in road communication, establishment of 12 new medical college and hospitals in the state enhancing the health sector, construction of 4 bridges over the mighty Brahmaputra, providing benefits to the farmers through various schemes, establishment of 23 AIIMS across the country including one in Assam, building Assam free of flood and erosion etc. He also appreciated Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah and Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka for the implementation of ‘numerous’ developmental schemes to render all-round development in the parliamentary constituency and legislative constituency concerned within a short period.

Further Pijush Hazarika declared a package amounting to Rs. 1.70 crore to construct a Mini Stadium at Panigaon OPD College playground under the newly-delimited constituency to encourage the sports talents. He appealed to the people of Lakhimpur to extend their support to Pradan Baruah in the upcoming parliamentary election and elect a BJP legislator from Naoboicha LAC in the next assembly election. Hazarika also made a scathing attack on APCC president Bhupen Borah, Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi, Assam Jatiya Parishad chief Lurinjyoti Gogoi as well as the opposition forum.
