We want pact to usher in peace & progress, says NDFB-S chief B Saoraigwra

KOKRAJHAR: The president of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB-S) B Saoraigwra on Monday said that they wanted peaceful and inclusive people’s agreement for permanent peace and stability. The elusive NDFB leader said over 50 members of the outfit had already and more cadres who were in different segregated places were also coming back.

Saoraigwra, while talking to reporters at Digli, 5-km North of National Highway 31 C, said the NDB-S came over ground for sitting across the table for peaceful solution of decades-long problem of the Bodos. He said they had signed Suspension of Operation (SoO) with the Government of India recently to take part in the peace talks. He said the new agreement should be a people’s agreement inclusively, acceptable to all. He also hoped that the new agreement would be taken place as early as possible.

The president of the NDFB (S), while replaying to queries, said all the members and cadres of the organization would come to him. He also said that many segregated members and cadres in the operation were likely to arrive within 2-3 days.

The general secretary of the NDFB (S), B. Ferenga said they hoped for a solution to the problems of the Bodos through peace dialogue. “We are hopeful that the Bodo problem will be solved very soon,” he said.

Meanwhile, a designated camp was set up at Digli under Kokrajhar PS, (Bishmuri OP) in Kokrajhar district on January 19 evening.
