West Goalpara College disobeys the directions of the higher education department

GOALPARA: The West Goalpara College, situated at Ambari under the Kahrmuja development block of the district, is clearly non-complying with the directions of the higher education department of the Assam Government. The Director of Higher Education department, in its letter no. G(B) AC/415/2015/228 dated December 13, 2018 clearly directed the Governing Body (GB) of the college to hold the interview to appoint the permanent Principal within the next 30 days. However, 100 days have already passed after the issue of the order but no interview has been arranged by the GB for reasons best known to it.

Earlier, the GB in its letter to the Director dated November 25, 2018 sought re-advertisement of the interview. However, the Director strictly wrote back to the GB to hold the interview as per the advertisement published on June 30, 2018.

Not only that, the GB of the West Goalpara College allegedly tried to mislead the higher education department by giving a false date of newspaper advertisement. The GB wrote to the director that the advertisement for the appointment of Principal was published on May 29, 2018. However, it actually was published on June 30, 2018. The conscious people and most of the teachers have demanded a permanent Principal in the college for the greater interest of the institution.
