NAGRUJULI: A wild elephant created terror on Tuesday night at Nagrijuli in Tamulpur subdivision in the district of Baksa.

A wild elephant was isolated from its herd. It came down from the Bhutan hills and entered the No. 1 Dongargaon of Nagrijuli at night. The lonely wild elephant that came down from the hills in search of food, demolished the houses of Subhadra Biswas, Nirmal Biswas, Ananta Mandal and Purna Biswas in the village and ate the rice in the store. The terrified villagers tried to chase the elephant by shouting and banging utensils but the wild elephant went back to the hills only in the morning.
