TANGLA: The man-elephant conflict continues to haunt the Indo-Bhutan border villages of the Udalguri district. In yet another incident, Manga Munda (31) was trampled to death by a herd of wild jumbos after being chased at about 12 am near his residence in Nonaipara TE under Paneri PS in Udalguri district on Sunday night. According to reports, a herd of wild jumbos descending from the Indo-Bhutan hills unleashed a reign of terror in the locality forcing villagers to chase away the herd. One of the elephants trampled Manga to death while three other villagers also sustained injuries.
