Woman allegedly murdered in Chirang, Police suspects illicit relationship

Bongaigaon: Panic prevailed in Chirang following a murder on Sunday night. The body of Pinki Besra (25), a resident of Deushri area under Runikhata PS of Chirang district, was found on Monday in a forest area of Deushri. Talking to media persons, Sudhakar Sing, Chirang Superintendent of Police, said that Kisnu Murmu (26) had been picked up by police on suspicion.

“We are investigating the matter. It is suspected that the motive of this murder is the illicit relationship between Pinki and Kisnu. During interrogation, it was revealed that Kisnu had borrowed some money from Pinki and not returned it. They had quarrelled on Sunday evening. So we picked up him based on suspicion. Everything will be clear after investigation,” Sing said. On the other hand, another body was recovered on Monday in the Rangijhora area under Amguri PS of Chirang district. The deceased has been identified as Zedi Basumatary (35) who was missing since Sunday night. An investigation is on.
