Women organizations of Dima Hasao condemn alleged rape of minor

HAFLONG: Several women organizations of Dima Hasao like Ladies Welfare Society, Mahila Shakti Mondol have strongly condemned the alleged rape of a minor at Manderdisa in Dima Hasao.

A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by one Raja Das (26) of village Krompron 7 Mile Super Market in Nagaland, on July 28 near the bamboo factory of Manderdisa. The accused was apprehended by the public after the girl informed about the incident and he was handed over to police.

Meanwhile, the mother of the victim lodged an FIR at Langting PS. The police registered a case vide Langting PS Case No.16/2023 U/S-376[2) (1) IPC R/W Sec.4 of POCSO Act.

The victim was brought to Haflong Civil Hospital for treatment as she had suffered injury and was released on Wednesday.

Gopa Choudhury of Ladies Welfare Society and Parboti Thaosen of Mahila Shakti Mondol strongly condemned the incident and also demanded strict action against the culprit. They have also assured that they will extend every possible help to the victim.
