TINSUKIA: The Women's College Tinsukia IGNOU study centre (LSC-0403) has been conferred with the best study centre award for excellent support services provided to the learners and to IGNOU Regional Centre Jorhat during the year 2019-2020 out of 24 study centres under Jorhat RC.
The award was presented during the 33rd convocation of IGNOU held at Jorhat Planetarium on Monday in presence of degree awardees and distinguished guests. Dr Anil Chandra Saikia, former Vice-Principal of Kakojan College, as chief guest delivered the convocation address and Dr Anil Chandra Borah, Regional Director IGNOU Jorhat centre, spoke on the achievements of the centre. He thanked the Tinsukia study centre for achieving a pursuit of excellence. Uttam Duorah, former coordinator, and Dr Abhijit Mukherjee, present coordinator of Tinsukia study centre, jointly received the Certificate of Recognition.
The Tinsukia study centre at Women's College was established in 1991 and currently, it has an enrolment of more than 350 students from across Tinsukia district and Arunachal Pradesh, besides a good number defence personnel from Army and Air Force who are pursuing courses in different disciplines.
