Woollen blankets distributed among the poor at Srimanta Sankardev Sishu Udyan, Dhubri

DHUBRI: Woollen blankets were distributed among the poorest of poor jointly by Issa Foundation and Ajmal Foundation at Srimanta Sankardev Sishu Udyan on Tuesday.

This first phase of blanket distribution was formally inaugurated by Dhubri AIUDF legislator Nazrul Haque Bepari in presence of senior member of the party, Samsul Haque, Molla and Lal Mian.

Speaking at the ceremonial distribution of blankets, Nazrul Haque Bepari said that like every year, this year too, Ajmal Foundation and Issa Foundation would jointly distribute the blankets in this cold winter to provide warmth to the poorest of poor of the district.

“A total of 60,000 woollen blankets will be distributed in various districts of Assam, including 12,000 in Dhubri and Gauripur legislative constituency within a week. It is indeed a great humanitarian services being rendered by Ajmal and Issa Foundation without any discrimination,” Bepari said.

The meeting was also addressed by AIUDF president of South Salmara-Mancachar district committee and nominee of Dhubri MP, Badruddin Ajmal, Lal Miah, AIUDF general secretary of South Salmara-Mancachar District Committee, Nurul Islam, senior member of the party, Samsul Haque and journalist Bijoy Kumar Sharma. Nearly 200 blankets were distributed on Tuesday while rest of the blankets will be distributed in phase manner after selecting the beneficiaries.
