TINSUKIA: The NSS Unit of Women's College Tinsukia in collaboration with the Civil Defence Department, Tinsukia completed a 6-day workshop on disaster management with a daylong mock drill programme recently. The mock drill created a fear psychosis among the local residents. Dr Rajib Bordoloi principal of the college inaugurated the workshop while the officials from Civil Defence Department namely Rupanta Sonowal, Bhaskar Deka, Deputy Chief Warden Manuranjan Moran and the coordinator of the certificate course on Disaster Management and also NSS programme officer Dr Tanushree Sarkar acted as resource persons. More than 50 students of Disaster Management Certificate Course participated in the workshop as well as in mock drill programme. The workshop dwelt at length on all the essential features of fire fighting, rescue operation etc.
