TEZPUR: A day-long Workshop on Health Care Waste Management was held at the Lokoproya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH) premises on Thursday. The programme was organized under Swachh Bharat Mission.

The chief guest of the programme, J Sahariah, Regional Officer, Pollution Control Board, Tezpur along with Jehirul Islam, Engineer, Pollution Control Board, Tezpur were invited to share their views regarding bio medical waste management . During the workshop, J Sahariah mentioned that by reducing and segregating health care waste, healthcare facilities can reduce their operational costs, eliminate risks to their staff, enhance the local environment and improve community relations etc.

Attending the programme, Jehirul Islam discussed the importance and principles of health care waste management. In the workshop, various topics were discussed on waste management. Around 40 participants and staff from various departments attended the workshop.
