Workshop on makeup and pickle-making concludes in Gargaon College

The Department of Sociology, Gargaon College, organized a two-day workshop on Makeup and Pickle-making on June 26 and June 27. The workshop was conducted with the aim of providing the students with important techniques, methods, and knowledge on topics such as bridal makeup, hairstyling, and pickle making.

SIVASAGAR: The Department of Sociology, Gargaon College, organized a two-day workshop on Makeup and Pickle-making on June 26 and June 27. The workshop was conducted with the aim of providing the students with important techniques, methods, and knowledge on topics such as bridal makeup, hairstyling, and pickle making.

On the first day of the workshop, the girl students of the department were provided training on bridal makeup and hair style. Panchami Sarma, a professional trainer who was invited to impart training, demonstrated various steps of makeup and tricks of hair styling. Girls were provided hands on training on preparing, processing, packaging and preserving pickles in the second day of the workshop. Suvana Hazarika of Leena Processing Unit, Nazira, acted as the resource person and trainer and provided training on pickle making during the programme.

Dr. Sabyasachi Mahanta, Principal of Gargaon College, appreciated the efforts of the organisers for organising such a training programme, which is essential for girls to get professional education along with studies through which they can become self-reliant and upgrade their skills as well. The workshop was held under the guidance of Mina Robidas, HoD of the department, along with the other faculty members of the Sociology Department, Mahananda Tamuli and Dr. Priyanka Tamuli. Mina Robidas said that training on such topics develops the skills of the students and helps them enhance their proficiency in the various fields. The two-day programme moderated by Mahananda Tamuli came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Priyanka Tamuli. Total 50 girls of the department availed the benefits of the workshop.
