Workshop on NEP 2020 held in Golaghat Commerce College premises

GOLAGHAT: Women’s Cell, Golaghat Commerce College organized a one-day workshop on NEP 2020- Its Nitty Gritty and implementation in UG Programmes on Monday. The workshop was held in the college premises with the objective of facilitating teachers and academicians to understand the nuances of NEP 2020 with reference to UG programmes. More than 50 teachers from various colleges of Golaghat district participated in the programme.

The event started with an inaugural speech by Dr. Utpal Sarma, Principal of Golaghat Commerce College stressing on the significance of preparedness for NEP 2020. Prof. Sarat Ch. Kakoty, Dept. of Statistics, Dibrugarh University acting as a resource person shared his knowledge on the foundational basis of NEP 2020. He emphasized the multidisciplinary approach adopted under the policy for the holistic development of students. In the second session, resource person Dr.Borun Dey, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Political Science, Dibrugarh University enlightened the attendees with a systematic and detailed elaboration of course structure, credit requirements and other norms of the policy in relevance to UG Programme. His deliberation focused on the comprehensive, skill based and flexible nature of the revolutionary policy. The programme hosted by Sonashree Das, secretary of women cell came to end with a vote of thanks by Dr. Priyanka Bharali, assistant secretary of Women Cell, Golaghat Commerce College.
