GAURISAGAR: Dikhowmukh College in Sivasagar organized a three day-long ICSSR sponsored workshop under the joint aegis of college IQAC on “Quantitative Techniques for Economics” which successfully concluded here on Thursday. The workshop was organized with a view to provide in depth knowledge in fundamentals of statistical techniques used in economic, methods, acquaint with computer software in research.
The seminar was formally inaugurated by Pabitra Kumar Dutta, vice principal of the college while Khirode Khanikor, associat professor of economics department delivered welcomed speech. In the three day-long workshop Dr. Deb Kar Chakraborty, professor of department of Economic, Dibrugarh University (DU), Dr.Pranjal Protim Buragohain, professor and head department of Economics, DU, Dr Manash Pratim Borman, associate professor, department of Statistics, DU took part as a resource persons.
In the veledictory function Bipul Borkatoky, president of college governing body and Moniram Saikia, former head of Economics department of the college graced as a guests. As many as above fifty students and teachers took part in the seminar. Dr.Ranjit Kumar Baurah, principal of the college expressed his gratitude for making the workshop successful. Earlier, Dr Romen Kalita, convenor of the workshop anchored the whole programme while Dr.Pranjal Borah, Co ordinator of IQAC elaborated briefly about the seminar and the role of IQAC.
