DOOMDOOMA : The state level workshop of Resource Persons (RP) of National Children’s Science Conferences (NCSC) was held on Saturday and Sunday at the conference hall of Doomdooma College. The workshop organized by Assam Science, Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) was hosted by NCSC, Tinsukia District in collaboration with Doomdooma College and Aryabhatta Science Centre, Tinsukia District. The workshop was inaugurated by Jiten Sharma, State Advisor, Child Science by lighting a lamp while Dr. Rajiv Konwar, District Academic Chairman, Tinsukia District Organizing Committee delivered the inaugural speech.

The workshop was conducted by State Co-ordinator Ramen Gogoi. Chief Instructor Dr. Mantu Bhuyan, Senior Scientist, North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEST) explained the main theme of the project ‘Understanding Ecosystem for Health and Comprehensive Well-being’ and gave training on possible project preparation based on Sub-Theme -1.Then, RP trainers, Dr. Sudarshan Gogoi, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Sadiya College, gave training to the trainees on the sub-topic of project preparation - ‘Technological Innovations for Ecosystems and Health’ .

Dr. Rajiv Das, Associate Professor, Assam Medical College, explained two sub-themes of the project development namely, ‘Health, Nutrition and Welfare’ and ‘Ecosystem Based Systems for Self-Reliance’ respectively. Dr. Joy Dayal Mali, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Sadiya College gave training on the sub-topic of ‘Socio-Cultural Functions for Ecosystems and Health’ and Khanjit Gogoi, Orchid Expert, gave detailed training on project preparation methods.
