GOLAGHAT: World Malaria Day was celebrated in Golaghat district. A rally was inaugurated by Golaghat Joint Director of Health Services Dr. Ranjit Bhuyan. In his opening remarks, he spoke about the significance of this day and the disease and said that it is possible to get rid of this disease by raising awareness among the people. Therefore, it is very important that the public cooperates in the awareness programmes being conducted by the health department. People can avoid malaria or other vector-borne diseases if they follow various awareness messages, he said.

The awareness rally was attended by Deputy Superintendent of Golaghat Swaheed Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital Dr. Bipul Das, District Malaria Officer Navanita Das, Vector borne Disease Consultant Binji Rahman, NHM officers, students of GNM Training Centre, ASHAs and staff of the department.
