LAKHIMPUR: Laying stress on this year’s theme ‘Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation’, the World Wildlife Day was observed at Dhakuakhana Normal School on Friday in a befitting manner by Pu En Fo Wild, an environmental activist organization. The theme calls for the celebration of all conservation efforts, right from the inter-governmental level to the local scale. The theme has provided greater opportunities to highlight the efforts making a significant contribution to sustainability, wildlife, and biodiversity conservation.

In order to celebrate the event, the organization organized a seminar on the theme, which was chaired by Lakhi Konwar, the Principal of Dhakuakhana Normal School. The agenda of the programme began with a chorus song presented by the trainees of the school and it was inaugurated by guest faculty Tolan Chandra Dutta. Former secretary of Assam Science Writer’s Association-cum-nature writer Manas Pratim Dutta, environmental activists Biman Hundique, Dhrubajyoti Chetia delivered lecture as resources persons of the seminar. Faculty of the school Karabi Acharya presented song by appreciating nature. Academician Pallabi Gogoi, journalist-cum-guest faculty Rajib Baruah were among those who attended the event.
